Responsibilities
- •Develop and maintain sources across the lithium and battery metals value chain
- •Produce 2-3 articles per week covering market developments, corporate moves, and supply chain shifts
- •Track and interpret production data, pricing trends, and project timelines
- •Attend and report from industry conferences and site visits
Qualifications
- •Minimum 2 years of experience covering mining, energy, or commodities
- •Demonstrated ability to read and interpret financial filings, feasibility studies, and technical reports
- •Strong network of industry contacts or ability to build one quickly
- •Degree in journalism, geology, engineering, economics, or related field
Policy & Trade Correspondent
Report on government policy, trade regulations, and ESG frameworks shaping the critical minerals sector. This role requires fluency in legislative processes, international trade agreements, and regulatory compliance across major producing and consuming nations.
Responsibilities
- •Monitor and analyze policy developments from the U.S., EU, Australia, Canada, and key producing nations
- •Cover trade disputes, tariffs, export controls, and bilateral mineral agreements
- •Report on ESG regulatory frameworks, due diligence requirements, and responsible sourcing standards
- •Produce policy briefs and explainers that translate regulatory language for industry audiences
Qualifications
- •Minimum 3 years covering policy, trade, or regulatory affairs in the energy or mining sector
- •Familiarity with IRA provisions, EU Critical Raw Materials Act, and comparable frameworks
- •Experience working with government sources, think tanks, and policy organizations
- •Degree in political science, international relations, law, journalism, or related field
Data Analyst, Market Intelligence
Build and maintain pricing models, supply-demand forecasts, and market dashboards for critical minerals. This role sits at the intersection of data science and commodity markets, supporting both editorial content and standalone data products.
Responsibilities
- •Collect, clean, and analyze pricing data across lithium, cobalt, nickel, rare earths, and graphite markets
- •Build and maintain supply-demand models and production forecasts
- •Create data visualizations and interactive charts for published articles
- •Collaborate with reporters to provide quantitative backing for market analysis pieces
Qualifications
- •Minimum 2 years in commodity data analysis, market research, or a related quantitative role
- •Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL for data analysis and visualization
